This has been a long-standing request from our users, and we’re glad to finally deliver it. The new add-on brings interview scheduling, candidate assessments, structured evaluation forms, and panelist feedback into your HireZoot recruitment workflow.
Our approach to HireZoot has always been simple: keep the core plugin focused and let users choose the features they need.
We don’t believe every feature needs to be built into the core plugin. Adding functionality that not everyone needs can make a plugin unnecessarily bloated and more complicated to use. Instead, we build add-ons for specific requirements, so users can extend their recruitment workflow when they need to, without paying for features they may never use.
Interviews & Assessments is another step in that direction.
A Complete Interview Workflow, Right Inside HireZoot
Managing interviews involves much more than picking a date and sending out meeting links. Recruitment teams need to coordinate interviewers, evaluate candidates consistently, collect feedback, and bring everything together before making a hiring decision.
Interviews & Assessments brings these tasks into HireZoot, keeping every interview and assessment connected to the candidate’s job application.
You can schedule multiple evaluations for each application, assign hiring panelists, track evaluation status, and review scores and recommendations—all without managing the process across separate spreadsheets and email threads.
Whether you’re conducting an initial screening or managing multiple interview rounds, the add-on helps keep the process organized.
Create Structured Evaluations With Reusable Forms
Every hiring team has its own way of evaluating candidates. With Interviews & Assessments, you can create evaluation forms that suit your recruitment process and reuse them across interviews and assessments.
The add-on includes four default forms to help you get started:
- General Interview
- HR / Candidate Fit Interview
- General Assessment
- CV Assessment / Screening
You can also create, edit, and duplicate forms, or define custom evaluation criteria for individual assessments.
Evaluators can rate candidates against each criterion, add supporting notes, and provide an overall rating. The overall rating is calculated automatically from the numeric criterion ratings, excluding those marked N/A.
They can also provide a hiring recommendation: Strong Hire, Hire, Consider, Hold, or Reject.
Bring Your Hiring Panel Together
When several people are involved in a hiring decision, collecting their feedback can quickly become a challenge.
The add-on lets you assign multiple evaluators to an interview or assessment and collect their feedback directly in HireZoot. Recruitment managers can review individual responses, compare scores and recommendations, and track pending evaluations.
There’s also a dedicated Hiring Panelist role. Panelists can access their assigned applications and evaluations and submit their own feedback without needing full recruitment-management access.
You can control whether panelists can see one another’s feedback at all times, only after submitting their own, or not at all. This gives recruitment teams greater control over how candidate evaluations are shared.
Online or In-Person, Your Choice
Interviews & Assessments supports different interview formats to fit your hiring process.
For online interviews, you can add meeting links from Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams, along with optional joining instructions. For in-person interviews, you can specify the location.
Plans change, too. Recruitment managers can reschedule or cancel evaluations directly from the candidate’s application, with optional email notifications to candidates and assigned evaluators.
Keep Everyone in the Loop
The add-on includes configurable email notifications for scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations.
You can customize notification templates for candidates and evaluators, including the subject, content, sender details, and CC recipients. Dynamic template tags let you automatically include relevant details such as the candidate’s name, job title, interview date, and time.
This helps everyone stay informed without requiring recruitment managers to send every update manually.
Review Evaluations and Make Informed Decisions
Once the feedback comes in, recruitment managers can review the results through the dedicated Scoreboards tab.
The Interviews listing provides an overview of candidates, jobs, evaluations, schedules, interviewers, rounds, statuses, scores, and recommendations. Search and filtering options make it easier to find specific evaluations and follow progress across the hiring process.
With scores, comments, and recommendations available alongside the candidate’s application, hiring teams have a clearer picture of each candidate’s progress.
Another Add-on, More Flexibility
Interviews and Assessments is built for recruitment managers coordinating hiring, hiring managers reviewing candidates, and interviewers who need a consistent way to submit feedback.
As with our approach to the rest of the HireZoot family, the goal isn’t to pack every possible feature into the core plugin. It’s to give users a solid recruitment foundation and the flexibility to extend it as their needs grow.
Interviews and Assessments works with the free version of HireZoot and is also included in the HireZoot bundle.
